Category Archives: A new start

Go Kabaddi, Pro Kabaddi!!

I have started watching PRO KABADDI on Star Gold these days and I have to say this is one of the most amazing thing done. Firstly because it is a great sport to watch, secondly it promotes an Indian sport that was falling behind by a hell lot and third and most important for the sheer thrill of a match of Kabaddi.

It gets more and more interesting with each and every minute passing by.  The thrill and the way game turns every minute with every raid is inexplicable. The game is of 40 minutes with half time at 20.  They have got some new rules which makes it more interesting like a raider can’t make 3 empty raids, in case he does he will be out for a while.

The team name and their owners are as below:

Team Name City Owner
Bengal Warriors Kolkata Kishore Biyani Future Group
Bengaluru Bulls Bengaluru Kosmik Global Media
Dabang Delhi Delhi Radha Kapoor DO IT Sports Management
Jaipur Pink Panthers Jaipur Abhishek Bachchan
Patna Pirates Patna Rajesh Shah
Puneri Paltan Pune Sumanlal Shah Insurekot Sports
Telugu Titans Vizag Veera Sports
U Mumba Mumbai Ronnie Screwvala Unilazer Sports

I watched two games today, Pune Vs Bengaluru and Delhi Vs Vizag. Pune and Delhi both were underdogs today and they both ended up winning the match. How is that? Well they played really well and their competitors lost by a very minute difference, know more here: ProKabaddi

Interestingly they promoted the event well and that also got people’s attention and the result is there on Star Gold at 7:45 pm. It is a li’l disheartening though that this league is not getting as much attention in Media as it should but it is a remarkable start nonetheless.

Watch the promotion:

Also I would want to congratulate all the people involved in bringing this cool sport on National TV. So for the first time a sport other than Cricket will be noticed by people of the country. And importantly the some great Kabaddi players who were earlier non-existent will be known to Indians.

Go Kabaddi, ProKabaddi!!

MyGov is the platform you were asking to help India grow, now Join it

Crowdsourcing ideas that would improve governance is a great idea, ain’t it? So in a country where everyone wants to participate in discussions on governance and everyone has an idea to improve social, political and economical growth of the country, a platform to facilitate that will be something people will love more than anything. And guess what Indian Government has launched something on the very similar lines. PM Narendra Modi on Saturday launched Mygov, an interactive website that seeks to foster participatory governance.

It is a great initiative. Of course it would have been better to have something a lot earlier but it is better late than never. There are so many people who want to contribute towards nation-building, and devote their time and energy. The only thing they required was an opportunity to shine and showcase their contribution. Now outlook of this website is good and it has two threads Discuss and Do.

Now you can chip in your ideas for a better nation, on how things can be improved, how problems faced by nation can be resolved. The ideas presented will be taken further by discussion forums and worked upon based on their feasibility. You can participate in the work to be done or being done. Citizens can volunteer for various tasks and submit their entries. These tasks would then be reviewed by other members and experts. Approved task would earn credit points for completing the task.

So all the folks who have been saying all they need is an opportunity, here is the platform. Now it is up to people to make this project a success or failure, I would want to see this as a success from Government of India to introduce more transparency. I expect people to differ from my views though I would request everyone to signup, it doesn’t take more than a minute and do whatever you can, discuss, raise concerns, chip in your ideas or help other ideas flourish.

Do all you can because this time it is one platform you have been asking and now you have got. No further excuses please. Try to make it a success before condemning and start complaining about it.

The Last Samurai of Test Cricket & definitely the best test cricketer ever

The Wall aka Rahul Dravid(Jammie)

To start with lemme quote Matthew Hayden

“All this going around is not aggression. If you want to see aggression on cricket field, look into Rahul Dravid’s eyes”

It is people like him who keep cricket Gentlemen’s game. He is probably the best test cricketer ever. Also he was the kind of a player who puts team first.

He was everything Indian Cricket Team wanted him to be. They needed an opener he was there, they needed a class fielder on third man or slip or gully, he was right there. India needed an extra batsman he becomes the wicket-keeper and performed very well. India needed a captain, he was captain reliable

What has been remarkable is the consistency with which he’s been able to do it overseas. In 2006, Dravid scored two fifties in the Jamaica Test as India won their first series in the Caribbean in 35 years. He lead the side to series victories in England for the first time in a generation too, as captain.

I doubt I can put it better than Bhogle, who said, “Ask him to walk on water for his team and he will ask you how many miles.

In 286 Test innings, Dravid played 31,258 balls. More than anyone else, ever. Just to add to his ability to endure and push himself beyond limits:

He was challenged every time and he challenged the challange every time.

When they called him ‘slow’ for limited overs cricket, scored 50 off 22 balls.

When the opposition never hesitated to appreciate (See the player behind him, even though he reached Pavilion)

You want avhievement how about this:

Some Quotes to make it understandable:

Try to take his wicket in first fifteen minutes, if can’t then try to take the remaining wickets” — Steve Waugh

Vijeta(his Wife):

Glenn McGrath once said that if there was one Indian player who could get a direct entry into the famous Australian team of the late 90s, it would be Rahul Dravid.

Dravid has been a class player for a long time now and we know his ability better than anyone. He’s not like the other guys who love scoring off every ball, and there’s no real weakness in his game either.” — Glenn McGrath

If you can’t get along with Dravid, you’re struggling in life ” — Brett Lee

Rahul Dravid being known as ‘The Wall’ is pretty much spot on. ‘The fortress’ could also describe Rahul. Because once, Dravid was set, you needed the bowling equivalent of a dozen cannon firing all at once to blast him down,”” — Shane The Warne

If I have to put anyone to bat for my life, it’ll be Kallis or Dravid“. — Brian Lara

“Time and Tide waits for nobody, except Rahul Dravid” — MTV India

It is a sad thing that we won’t see more of his cricket any further and the greatest of the people around the world will never say such beautiful things about anyone.

May God Bless the Wall!!

To sum it up with the Batman Series:

Rahul Dravid was not the player India asked for, but he was the player they needed.

An innovation which can alleviate the pain of 8 million underprivileged Rickshaw pullers

There are few things which go unheard or less heard of this is one of those stories. There is a man Dr. Pradip Sarmah from Assam who did something which can change life of 8 million underprivileged rickshaw pullers. How?

Looking at the plight of rickshaw pullers in India he decided to start a bank which will support these people and help them to get their own rickshaw and get a better one too. He founded Rickshaw Bank, an NGO that provides micro-finance to Indian rickshaw drivers.

This is a great innovation and can help so many of the underprivileged than we can probably think of. So next time you feel bad for that poor Rickshaw-wala, just tell him about it.

A tribute to The IT Man Dewang Mehta

NASSCOM is 25 years old and they have paid tribute to the man who revolutionized the IT industry in India. The man who showed how people can be benefited from technology. Dewang was the head of NASSCOM from 1991 to 2001, he collaborated with various government and non-government organization to unlock the power tapped in this sector.

I agree to the message that basic need should be extended from ROTI, KAPDA, MAKAAN to BIJLI and BANDWIDTH as well. Today IT is a $110bn industry, who would have thought a crazy idea like that will create such a huge difference.

Eesha Khare: 18 and inventor of next generation power source

This 18 year old girl has designed a super capacitor which can charge a mobile phone battery in a minute. She was awarded by Intel as “Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award”.

What she has accomplished is marvelous and can change the future of energy sources. It is great to see a woman of her caliber and how she is contributing to a better world.

Someone teach not-so-mister Azam Khan – Martyrdom is beyond religion

Nobody can or should involve Army with Politics. People who died in Kargil War were not Hindu or Muslims they were Indian Army men.  #ArmyAbovePolitics 527 Indians Army-men lost their lives in  Kargil war and a dickhead Azam Khan wants to polarize votes by saying communal things.

The shameful thing is that the fucker don’t even want to apologize with it, Indian National Congress is not even asking Samajwadi Party to cancel Azam’s candidature because they will lose an ally. Samajwadis are defending him.

This shit is beyond toleration, this man is not even an Indian he is bloody terrorist. He is responsible for Muzaffarnagar riots and now look at his audacity that he goes on to say as rubbish as his communal comment on Army.

These stupid, little brained politicians have no respect for Martyrdom, for Army and most importantly for the country, They need to be taught a very basic lesson: “Martyrdom has no religious background”.

A truly selfless human: The saint of baylovo

Who says there are no selfless acts/motives in people anymore. There are some who are others absolutely. I am talking about Dobri Dobrev this guy honestly deserve some space here. How and why?

So lemme introduce you to a 99 year old beggar of Bulgaria, who walks several kilometers everyday to  sit or stand in front the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky in Sofia to beg for money. What’s so special about that, eh?

This man donates every single penny he gets to Orphanages and Charities. How much did you donate last year?

He lost almost all his hearing in second world war in one of the bombings in Bulgarian capital Sofia. In year 2000 he donated all he had to the betterment of society and cut his relations with materialism.  He lives in a evry modest place on his 80 euro pension.

That is the saint of Baylovo

The kind of example that he gives with his asceticism that led many to call him “The saint of Baylovo”. Others call him “Dyodo Dobri” as in Grandpa Dobri with love.  Now that is a life worthy of respect and truly a selfless one.

20 July 2014, he will turn 100 but guess what no one will care for that, will we?

#MyVote2Congress is trending on twitter, guess what My Vote is not for Congress

Twitter has grown to a scale where , as of Jan 2014, 500 Million tweets are shared every day. In order to facilitate great sharing of knowledge/information they also tell what’s trending in the middle-left of the page:

This trending thing is absolutely awesome but a strange thing happened today, The thing is

This is embarrassing why would anyone say their vote is for congress until and unless they want another 5 years of Corruption and downgrading economic conditions for India. So I thought I will checkout some Congress Loving tweets and here is what is Found.

Capture1 Capture2 Capture3 Capture4

Even people are confused how it started, this is hilarious and embarrassing at the same time. No one likes Congress, people specially youth hates RahulGandhi, Sardar Manmohan Singh has been condemned by people, No one likes Sonia and most importantly they have looted the nation for the last decade, yet it is trending.

Either Congress is paying a lot to twitter or something fishy is happening out there. I am curious because My Vote is not for Congress or shall I say DHONGress.
